Congratulations!

Congrats to Shari Sakurai, author of Adam!

One of her books will be given away at a book exchange for Wyvacon at the end of the month! Whoo!

Review Tomorrow

Not going to be able to make the deadline tonight. Expect one, possibly two (depending), tomorrow! Have fun, kids.
Don’t forget to check out my Patreon to help keep my services free for authors and to decrease the turnaround time!

Changes

Over the course of the next few days, there’s going to be a few changes.
Instead of posting a review a day, I’m going to scale down to one every other day. Work, unfortunately, has started eating more of my time. Author interviews, audio critiques, and things like that are currently on hold (except for the one already promised) until I can find the extra time to devote to them like I want.

That being said, I’ve redone the Patreon a little bit. Basically what it is now is my stepping stone towards my other goals. I want to keep my reviews free for all authors, and Patreon is the way I intend to do that. My reviews will also be cross-posted there. If you like what I do, consider supporting me through Patreon, or promoting it to your friends!
Reviews will resume on Monday!

No Review Today

Sorry, guys. No review today. Trying to play catch up and put myself ahead after work tore me down a bit this week 🙂
Tomorrow’s review will be the written portion for the audio critique subject. This is one that my husband and I are collaborating on, and I’m really excited for it. We’ve gotten a handful of volunteers, so it should certainly prove to be a challenge. One that we’re both looking forward to.

In the meantime, don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter.

For those of you on mobile, it’ll be at the very bottom. Or, you can click the handy-dandy link I’ve provided. There’s a drawing going on to have your sci-do or fantasy book bought by me and distrubuted at a local convention! Details and signup available only to subscribers! Hurry. Signup ends July 9th. Winner will be announced on  the 10th.

You’ll also get access to upcoming reviews and exclusive author interviews.

I also have a Patreon. Haven’t done a whole lot of advertising for it, simply because the content is in development. I don’t expect much to come of it just yet, but it’s there if you want to check it out!

Thank you all so much for being here with me on this journey. None of this would be possible without your support. I only hope my future plans do you as much justice as you’ve done me!

Achievement Unlocked: Newsletter is Live

Thank you so much to those who have subscribed. This wouldn’t be possible without you. This is a huge step–not just for me, personally, but professionally.

Inside are featured reviews, as well as an Author Spotlight. Which, you may have noticed, is now a new tab on the home page. Can’t read it? That’s because only newsletter recipients have the password to unlock it! Sign up on the homepage or right here!

There’s also a local convention coming up that’s doing a book exchange. A sci-fi and fantasy exchange. One lucky author will have their book bought and exchanged at the con. Sign up for the newsletter to learn how to enter!

Achievement Unlocked

After trial-and-error (and a lot of quality time with Google), the signup sheet for the newsletter is live. Somehow, even amidst the utter disasters that were my first, second, and third attempts, I gained a few subscribers. I can’t write it off as a total loss.

It’s on the front page! Check it out.

newsletter
there it is!
In addition, the newsletter is almost done. I’m aiming for a tentative release date of Monday, June 5th. Sign up now for an exclusive opportunity!

There should also be a few more additions coming to the site soon.

Baby steps. Aw ye 🙂

No Review Today

So, while I’ve been trying to keep to the “post a review a day” mantra, today I’m going to forgo it.

Why?

I’m building myself up to take the necessary leaps forward. I’m terrified of failure. I’m equally as terrified of never having the opportunity to fail. Now, I’m gathering the resources needed to start expanding. I’ve never done anything like this before, so I want to do what I can to get things right.

Today I’m drafting my first newsletter. Working on the details associated with distributing it. Also trying to plan ahead content. I want to make this process as streamlined as possible.

That being said, would anyone like to volunteer to be my first author interview? Comment with your e-mail address below and we’ll talk about it!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to begin this kind of journey. I can only hope I don’t disappoint along the way.

Question for Authors

Books Reviews Anonymous

There’s a local convention coming up at the end of July. They do a sci-if/fantasy book exchange. I was thinking that if authors were interested in donating a physical copy of their novel, I would enter it in said book exchange. Signed copy, possibly?

There’s a limit of three, however. The decision would be made by random drawing of those that signed up?

Of course I’d leave a note with both mine and the authors information asking the reader to provide their thoughts via review and/or social media.

Anyone interested in contributing?
